I drew this cartoon a few years ago and recently it's been making the rounds online as a meme. Someone added some text at the top and cropped off the bottom part, along with my name and URL. Over the past week, the meme has been shared on many large social media pages, resulting in thousands and thousands of shares. I'm glad people like the cartoon, but stealing an artist’s work, changing it, and removing their signature isn’t cool. (It's actually copyright infringement, but that's a whole other blog post. If you'd like to learn more, here's a great article about copyright.)
Thankfully, there seems to be a growing number of people who understand the importance of crediting artists and calling out those who don’t. I've noticed this shift over the past year or so and it's great to see. As someone put it, “It's important to credit artists. Without them, there’s nothing to share!” Thank you, person who gets it! To the many of you who look out for artists, thank you. You're the best.

I’ve seen the meme everywhere lately. Didn’t know it was your cartoon. Thanks for posting this. People who steal from artists suck
